Welcome to the new CheriSHEd blog!
At the beginning of each month, the first blog will be a list of scriptures that our bloggers have committed to memorize for that specific month. We invite you to join us in getting into God’s Word through this blog. If you’d like to join in with us, we’d love to have you! Just leave us a comment and include the following information: your name, the scripture reference, translation (NKJV, NLT, etc.) and then include the entire verse.
For the verse, you can choose any verse you want. The more it speaks to you, the more easily you’ll be able to memorize it. If you don’t have a specific verse, feel free to choose one of the verses from the bloggers’ list or from another commenter. We just want you to be able to freely participate with us as we grow in God’s Word together!
Here are the scriptures that our bloggers have chosen for January:
Jessica Cisneros, Psalm 91:1 (NIV), “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Amy Lucero, Isaiah 43:16, 18-19 (NIV), “This is what the Lord says…he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, ‘Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.’”
Sherryle Cantu, Ephesians 4:29 (NLT), “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”
Bobbie Jo Miller, 1 Timothy 6:8 (ESV), “But if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content.”
Stacy Havens, Psalms 18:16-19 (NIV), “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy; from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.”
Kara Hyden, Romans 4:17 (NKJV), “…God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did…”
