Pastor Shelly Swann: I Do…Still

As we did last year, we are posting information on the different Breakout Speakers and sessions at our Awaken Women’s Retreat in October. If you’d like more information, please click on the Awaken 2015 tab. All the details are located there! We’d love to have you if you haven’t signed up, have been every year or have never been!

Our breakout speaker for this week is our very own Pastor Shelly Swann.

Shelly-2015

The breakout speaker we are highlighting this week is Pastor Shelly Swann. In addition to being a main speaker at Awaken, she’ll also be leading a panel discussion on marriage. The title of her class is “I Do…Still.” The information for this session is, “Join Pastor Shelly and a panel of women for a discussion on how to have a successful marriage and overcome challenges during the different seasons of life. There will also be a Q&A time during the session.”

We asked Pastor Shelly to elaborate a little bit on her session and this is what she had to say…

AW: Pastor Shelly, you’re leading a panel discussion on Marriage at Awaken this year. What types of marriage topics/issues will be covered in this session?

SS: We will be discussing some general thoughts about how to have a successful, God-honoring marriage as well as some specific issues we face as wives. No two marriages will look exactly the same, but the same principles can make any marriage better.

AW: Why do you think this topic is important to women?

SS: Most women have a desire to be married and want to have a good marriage but have not had a lot of good examples to follow.

AW: What do you hope that women will take away from your class?

SS: That no marriage is perfect but every marriage can improve if you practice biblical principles and surrender your marriage to God.

AW: Anything else about your topic or class that you’d like to share with the ladies?

SS: I would like for each of us as wives to be able to go back home with practical tools that we can implement into our marriages on a daily basis to change our hearts and cause our relationships to grow in our love for each other and for God.

Thank you, Pastor Shelly! 🙂

Pastor Shelly’s panel discussion on Marriage will be Friday morning during the first session.
