Amy Lucero: Seasons of Parenting

As we did last year, we are posting information on the different Breakout Speakers and sessions at our Awaken Women’s Retreat in October. If you’d like more information, please click on the Awaken 2015 tab. All the details are located there! We’d love to have you if you haven’t signed up, have been every year or have never been!

Our breakout speaker for this week is Amy Lucero.

Amy

In addition to leading worship this year at Awaken, Amy will be leading our other panel discussion, which is focused on Parenting. The session is titled, “Seasons of Parenting” and the description for the class is, “Join Amy and a panel of women as they discuss being a mom during the different seasons of your child’s life. There will also be a Q&A time during the session.”

We asked Amy some questions on her breakout session and this is what she had to say…

AW: Amy, you’re leading a panel discussion this year on Parenting. Without giving away too much of your message, tell the ladies a little bit about your topic.

AL: I will be hosting a discussion on Godly parenting, alongside moms who have children in various age groups. In all seasons of motherhood, we sometimes feel lost, overwhelmed and full of questions. This session will be full of laughter, all while learning how to raise our children God’s way.

AW: What types of parenting topics/issues will be covered by the panel discussion?

AL: Some topics we’ll be discussing are children’s personalities and love languages, discipline and how to enjoy motherhood in the midst of chaos (organization, easy recipes, etc.).

AW: Why do you think this topic is important to women?

AL: Our roles as moms (single, divorced and married) are to help shape our children to be the men and women of God that He has destined them to be. As mothers, we must be prepared and seek wisdom in all seasons of motherhood, from infancy to young adulthood.

AW: What do you hope that women will take away from your class?

AL: My prayer for the moms who attend this session is that they will feel NO judgment (there is no perfect mom) and will walk away feeling refreshed, equipped and ready for laundry, dishes and hugs when they get home! 🙂

AW: Anything else about your topic or class that you’d like to share with the ladies?

AL: Come ready to laugh, learn and be refreshed!

Thanks Amy! 🙂

The Parenting Panel discussion will be on Friday morning during the second morning session.
